March 24th

Took this at OHSU when I had a Dr. appt. Not a great pic...but it does meet my daily requirement.

March 23rd

These are some cherry blossoms in the back yard. For a moment the light was just right. They just made me feel happy and contented.

Starting Over

Obviously I have gotten painfully behind with my Project 365 Blog. There are many reasons I'm more than 2 months behind:

~I have been having some serious health issues over the past year- neurological problems, sleep issues and extreme fatigue..fun times I tell you! Many tests later (blood draws, a 2 day sleep study and an MRI) I still don't have any idea exactly what is wrong (I do however know all sorts of things that are normal!).

~I'm also helping care for my 89 year old grandmother. She's in the earliest stages of Alzheimers and believe me...It's no walk in the park. I found myself really jealous of my siblings and cousins who can just go visit Grandma without having to worry about whether she's taken her pills or drank her water...they can just enjoy the time they have left (and don't have to deal with what happens after a week of being off schedule). It's exhausting both physically and emotionally and tonight we argued. I really could have lived with out that.

~ I'm just so distracted that more often than not my camera is staying at the bottom of my purse these days.

So!~ That said I am giving myself a do over (rather a fresh start) for this years blog. So instead of feeling bad about being behind I am starting the 2010 Blog Today- March 23rd. My plan is to force myself to take a shot a day.

My hope is that in doing the daily shots I can push myself beyond my circumstances and really start to shine. (I promise...a photo is to follow)

Thanks for sticking with me!

My Mom...
We took her out for her birthday to Mothers Bistro & Bar.

My beautiful little sister and her boyfriend Daniel

Kaity is such a dork! I love the fact that she's the only thing in focus.

Just LOVE their coffee cups!

The front of the restaurant...so beautiful!!

Their famous french toast

Eggs Benedict...and the largest steak knife in the world!

Hopefully this makes up for being behind :-)

Lucy. Looks like she's singing...but she was just barking at me. It's really a horrible picture but it makes me laugh- and the spittle flying through the air is priceless.

Oops...I missed a few days!

Bear again...he fell asleep draped across the scale. And I can honestly say that he's the reason I haven't been shooting as much- he's been keeping me up most nights...and he isn't even my puppy! :-)

My Cousins daughter Aislinn- this shot happened totally organically...she was being a goofball and making faces at me when I realized that it could be a really cool shot. This may be one of my all time favorite shots.

Another one of Aisilinn hamming it up. I'll be using one of these two shots for my I ♥ Faces submission later this week.

These are my 89 year old grandma's hands next to Aislinn's (she's 5). They were comparing wrinkles and I just thought it was so cool.

Happy New Year!!
This isn't particularly skillful but I didn't shoot many pictures on the 1st. This is Bear- my sister's Christmas Puppy. He's absolutely precious...and will one day be as big as a horse!

December 16th

I took this from a parking structure at OHSU (a local hospital).
It's looking east- the statue is at Shriners Hospital, Portland and you can see the South Waterfront, Willamette River and the Eastside.

November 19th

Ben Mastrich at 3 weeks. This is Dani's son. He's the sweetest little guy!

Ben and Indy...

October 12th

Rodrigo y Gabriela at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
An absolutely amazing show.

I just love how much fun he's having.

My favorite shot of the night..I just love the drama of
the pose. The lighting was perfect.

October 2nd

Katie Carlene at Mississippi Studios...an Awesome Local Artist. The lighting there was horrible...so it really made me work for this shot.

September 19th

I had the honor of shooting one of my oldest friend's baby shower.
This is a photo of Dani at  ~32 weeks. I just love the lighting...

Anna...the party planner (and another friend who's known the mother-to-be
and myself for almost 20 years). I just love the look on her face. She was trying to be a
goofball and I caught the perfect moment.

Some detail work I did...
you wouldn't believe how juicy the strawberries were...Considering it was September

Bad News and Good News

So the bad news is that my laptop containing all of my photos (from the last 6 months) bit the dust. I have some of what I consider my best on a website so that's archived. So getting caught up should be pretty easy since there are fewer things to update from.

The good news is that I think I can get back on track and finish the year strong. And I've now learned firsthand that archiving is just as important as everyone says.

Side Note

This has been a really interesting journey. Now looking back at 9 out of 12 (yes...I know we're halfway through October but I'm about a month behind) months of photos I can see areas where I've grown and areas where I'd really like to grow more. I haven't met my 'a photo every day' criteria but it has stretched me and I'm so excited to end the year with a bang!

September 5th

My first wedding shoot. It was the most fun I've had in a long time. These are a few of my personal favorites. Special thanks to Tristan and Susee Thielman for allowing me to be a part of their big day.

August 30th

Emptying the baptismal...the fun way :-)

August 22nd

Susee Fox..soon to be Thielmann.
I'm actually shooting their wedding
this Saturday- what an honor!
