January 20th

I took both of these shots on my way to work. The rock wall with moss was just so brilliant I couldn't help myself.

The bus stop that I was standing at was right in front of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and saw this door. I didn't have time to get properly positioned because the bus was just down the block but I just LOVE the red doors...I plan to do a photo shoot there soon!

January 19th

Tonight I took a picture of the flower display outside a local florist.

January 18th

Todays shot is of a wood carving outside one of my favorite Pho resturants (Pho Van).

January 17th

Today I got together with my sister and the little boy she nannies. He's incredibly photogenic.

January 16th

I caught Lucy (my little brother's dog) sleeping upside down on the love seat. The lighting was HORRIBLE so this is the best I could do.

January 15th

Took my kid brother to Kuhn Pic's Bahn Thai (BEST THAI EVER). So I had to take some pics :-)
First up...Salad Rolls with the best Peanut Sauce in the world. If you think I'm kidding I challenge you to try it.

Next...Drunken Noodles with Chicken

And finally... my personal favorite Catfish with Garlic Chile Sauce

January 14th

Tonight I went on a photo safari with one of my best friends. We went to the Pearl District in Downtown Portland. The lighting is magical!

This is Chandra. As with most photographers she doesn't typically like having her picture taken :-)

This is the Hawthorne Bridge- one of my favorites.

January 13th

A side gate at the Central Library. I just love how old fashioned it is.

January 12th

This is OHSU cloaked in clouds. I was in a hurry so it's not a good shot.

January 11th

This morning it was 29 degrees and this Benson bubbler froze mid-stream.

January 10th

Not a great shot but I only took 2 photos today so it's all I've got.

January 9th

This may not be my only post for today but it's a start (an early one compared to when I normally post). This is Lucy, my brothers 6 year old Chocolate Lab. This is her begging look- I'm pretty sure she's putting all of her energy into looking pitiful...

January 8th

I got a new lens tonight so you get two photos. Above is my little sister and her fiance. They will probably be the subject of many pics since their wedding is this year.

Next- Abby again. She's just so stinking photogenic I can't help myself.

January 7th

So- since I was late in posting for the past few days (and also due to the fact that I took a lot of shots today).

My nephew Theodric so precious...

My new (old) typewriter. It's a L.C. Smith & Corona from the 30's and it's beautiful (it's a shame that they don't make things like that nowadays). It's so photogenic that I took multiple photos....

January 6th

So today I went home with a headache that didn't let up until after 7 tonight. So I took some shots of my Black Lab Mix, Abby. She refused to look directly at me.

January 5th

Hoda's Middle Eastern Restaurant- I love that place. And their lighting is just dreamy.

January 4th

This morning was beautiful and Mt. Hood was out. I took this shot from the 405 overpass on my way to work...I kind of like the effect of the grid. Not a great shot but I had a mega busy day so it's better than nothing :-)

January 3rd

This morning it was around 23 degrees and I took an amazing shot of a Benson Bubbler  that had frozen mid stream. But apparently I deleted it amongst other photos that I'd already backed up.

So here's the only other shot I took that can be seen by the public (all of the others were more pics of Kaity trying on wedding dresses and are top secret!).

This is Savannah (the flower girl) and Braeden (one of the ring bearers) at the bridal boutique...Savannah spent a decent amount of time posing for the mirrors...

January 2nd

Today we went for another round of bridal shopping and this little guy was our entertainment for the day...

I just LOVE the look on his face!

January 1st

Today we took my sister to try on wedding dresses for the very first time. It was a total blast to shoot but since this is a public blog I figured that any actual dress pics were strictly verboten (had to crop this one close to omit a potential dress). So my chosen shot for the day is of Kaity with a net veil making a totally goofy face. I love the perspective my wide angle adapter allows.

Shot Info:
Nikon D60 with kit lens (18-55 mm)
18 mm
x0.45 Wide Angle Adapter see below for details)
ISO 200
1/60
f4
No flash

Just a moment to give a shout out to Photojojo where I purchased my adapter. It's one of my favorite photo goodies EVER and I think that everybody should have one!
Super fun Wide Angle/Macro Lens Adapter

A Whole New Year...

Happy New Year!

After my lackluster performance last year (I missed far more posts than I wrote) I seriously considered not continuing the blog. But since it's a new year and I can start fresh I am going to attempt it again. My first two posts are to follow shortly.
